Homemade lip scrub

During these cold months we have to nurture our skin, hair and nails much more than usually. My lips are a special problem to me. They are always chapped, whether it's hot or cold weather. Lip balms help me in a very short time and then everything starts over again. I think this happens because I do not drink enough water. But I really don't like to drink a lot of water. Although, I think I will try it in the future.
I decided to make homemade lip scrub, so I can always use it when my lips are really chapped like these days. And of course, it is always better to use homemade products than those that are full of chemicals.
The ingredients I used:
  1. honey;
  2. extra virgin olive oil;
  3. granulated sugar;
  4. vanilla sugar ;
  5. small teaspoon;
  6. small container.

The container I've been using is a Manhattan creamy blush container. I just washed it very well. It's very small, there are only seven grams in it.

First, add a small amount of granulated sugar and then a little larger amount of vanilla sugar. the reason I love to use vanilla sugar is the way it exfoliates.Then add one teaspoon of the extra virgin olive oil. Mix it all together. It's very important not to add more oil, because it may be too oily and smooth. You can also use coconut oil, which will give a wonderful scent to it.

Then add honey and stir well again. I love it when a lip scrub is a little thicker, so I added more vanilla sugar. It smells divine!

This scrub leaves the lips so soft and nourished. After that, just coat them with good lip balm and enjoy.
Sugar helps to remove dead skin, and extra virgin olive oil, besides being an excellent skin moisturizer, helps to stimulate cell repair for firmer and smoother skin.
And there are many beauty benefits of honey. It is antibacterial, full of antioxidants and extremely moisturizing and soothing,
You can make the body scrub this way, too.

And, this is my final product. It's so small and cute, I can just put it in my bag and carry with me whenever I need it. :)

  6. I like your idea to use this little potty from Manhattan for the lip scrub. I wanted to make som DIY lip scrub before christmas to offer it to friends and family as little present. Unfortunaltely I couldn't find any small container to fill it in. :-(
    So I went for a homemade body scrub. ;)
    Do you know how long the storage life is?

    1. Hi! Thank you for visiting my blog! The storage life is quite long, because all the ingredients separately last very long, but you can put it in the fridge after a while, it will last a lot longer. :)))
